- A VISIT: Last weekend we visited a friend who lives in the country. We travelled by bus and the journey was very pleasant. We closed and locked the front door and started out very early in the morning. We reached our friend´s house at about a quarter past eleven. She opened the door and she was very pleased when she saw us. We entered the house and she asked us all about our trip and if the bus was full. We had something to drink at once because she is a very kind and generous person. Then I smoked a cigarette and walked in the garden while my wife looked round the house and my son played whith his cousins. We stayed there until the evening when we deceded to come back home.

- WHAT PEOPLE DO: The farmer woks on the farm. The shopkeeper sells things in the shop. The office-worker writes and telephones. What does the teacher do? He teaches in a school, of course. Where does father go in the mornings? He goes to work, and the children go to class. Does mother go to school? No, she doesn´t. She cleans and washes up after breakfast; then she does the shopping and has her lunch. In the evenings, she watches television for a while or listens to the radio and then she gets dinner ready for father and the children when they come home.
